In summary, 13 Dec was mainly set aside for us to settle down in Siem Reap, get to know each other, and to meet in our smaller groups to discuss activities we'll be holding at Anjali House. 14 Dec (today) has been yet another exciting day; we'd love to keep you posted on what happened but we'll sign off for now first as we're going out for dinner now.

We hope that things are going well in Singapore and we'll see you soon!

Sincerely,
COMMA 2012 Committee

Participants' Contact No.s

Good Evening Parents,

Update: We’ve finally touched down in Siem Reap, Cambodia! At the Siem Reap International Airport, all participants had bought a Cambodian SIM card each. As there were too many telcom companies to choose from, we settled for two telcom companies: “hello!” and “qb”.

More information on our phone numbers:
Phone Numbers starting with “81” are registered under “hello!” telcom company.
Phone Numbers starting with “13” are registered under “qb” telcom company.

For "qb" numbers:
SIM card price: $5 per card
SMS charges:
SMS to Cambodia (qb) users – FOC*
SMS to Cambodia (non-qb) users - 3₵ per SMS
SMS to Singapore - 10₵ per SMS
Calling charges:
Call to Cambodia (qb) users – FOC*
Call to Cambodia (non-qb) users - 7₵ per min
Call to Singapore – 20 min call time (included in the $5). If require more call time, top up 3₵ per min
3G:
1 GB data plan FOC. If require more, top up 1₵ per 1024kB (1MB)
*FOC: free of charge

We hope that the above information was helpful. Judging by the above charges, we highly recommend that you call instead of SMS the participants to minimize costs incurred. Please also keep in mind that the Cambodian time zone is one hour behind Singapore when making calls to participants! (:

We’ll be going out for dinner now. Do keep a lookout for further updates on what had happened today; we’ll try our best to post up another blogpost (with some photos hopefully) tonight!

Signing off,
COMMA 2012 Committee
